Sudharsan Govindaraj, M.Sc.
I graduated with a Master's degree in biotechnology from Vellore Institute of Technology, India. I worked on two different topics as a part of my Master's dissertation over a period of one year. I applied microbial bioreactor systems to bioremediate heavy metal pollution in water bodies, and I worked on developing a novel bactericidal coating to deter microbiologically induced corrosion on carbon steel matrices. I subsequently landed a lab tech position at the evolutionary biology lab at IGC, headed by Dr. Isabel Gordo. I am excited and enthralled to explore the world of microbes, learn new techniques and explore new avenues of microbiology. I aspire to decipher intimate details of microbial biomolecule synthesis pathways and apply the same in downstream processing as a part of my future scientific journey. Let the learning begin!
